Reporting to the Director, People, Talent and Culture, the candidate will have the following responsibilities for all the Canadian salaried and part time employees:

Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll in accordance with policies and standards
  • Administer the payroll process, changes in pay and deductions
  • Respond to day to day requests from active and former employees as well as various requests from Management
  • Provide guidance to all departments/employees in the area of payroll
  • Investigate payroll issues, identify causes, and formulate recommendations
  • Complete required reporting in a timely manner
  • Prepare and deliver various reports such as employment records and other documents
  • Validate correct processing of data entries
  • Assist with payroll journal entries, payroll accruals, and Monthly Payroll Analysis for the Finance Dept
  • Provide reports to accounting on a regular basis
  • Preparation of ROE’s
  • Administer and process employee’s benefits
  • Maintain confidential employee personnel files

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge  / experience processing for Quebec
  • Knowledge processing of special payments such as commissions and bonuses
  • CPA certification, as asset
  • Accounting experience, an asset
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce, a strong asset
  • In-depth knowledge of Employment Standards
  • Knowledge of current legislative requirements and CRA regulations
  • Excellent problem solving skills, logical and innovative thinker
  • Ability to work independently and with others in a team environment
  • Minimum 1-3 years of responsible payroll administration experience
  • Superior excel skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn about US payroll
  • French and English, written and spoken
