Mbappe donates over Ksh35 million he earned from World Cup

France’s forward Kylian Mbappe, 19, has donated his World Cup earnings to a charity organization that promotes sports activities for children living with disabilities, Preiers de Cordees Association according to eDaily.

According to L’Equipe, Mbappe has donated all the Ksh35 million-plus that he earned during the global football tournament.

Sports Illustrated says the teenager was paid Ksh2.2 million (£17,000) per game.

He also pocketed Ksh34.7 million (£265,000) for being part of the team that won the World Cup trophy.

Preiers de Cordees Association’s general manager, Sebastian Ruffin, says he was not surprised by Mbappe’s generosity.

Mr Ruffin told French Journal Du Dimanche he knew, two weeks to the end of the tournament, that Mbappe would donate his earnings to the organisation should France qualify for the quarter finals.

Mbappe scored four goals in the seven games he played for France and dazzled spectators with his mercurial pace and composure under pressure.

His skills helped his team to a 4-2victory against Croatia on July 15 in Russia.
