Sassy TV presenter Joey Muthengi has come out clean on word going around that she is into older men who date younger girls for material benefits.
“Can we kill that other story now about my non-existent ‘old’ men? It was a segment I did for an entertainment TV. Never have I ever nor am I planning on ever dating a known or unknown Kenyan politician or older man for profit,” she wrote in part.
The rumours started when a section of Kenyans misunderstood a sarcastic byte she did for an entertainment TV segment where she acted as governor’s wife.
The TV personality explained that she does not date nor does she think of dating a governor or an old man as claimed.
In the lengthy Instagram post, Joey also disclosed that in her struggle to get a formal job, potential male employers tried to meet her at pubs rather than offices, a request she often declined.
“I have worked in this industry since 2009. I’ve been without a place to call my own, been rejected from job interviews because I wasn’t dressed the correct way, borrowed money from my bro to go print and distribute my CV, yet everyone stayed silent because they didn’t know me.
“Been told I wasn’t the right fit numerous times, been in a matatu with nothing but my last 50 bob (while I was on my first TV show), hanging around Capital FM hoping they might need someone to voice their next advert… I’ve had male potential employers try to meet me at pubs rather than offices. Honey, I’ve seen it all,” she posted.
