A driver in Nairobi has been charged with raping a married woman.
The suspect, identified as John Donald Koli, is alleged to have raped the complainant who is a mother of two for two hours.
The court heard that Koli and an accomplice followed the complainant as she left her house to withdraw money from a mobile money transfer agent.
The prosecution stated that the suspect waylaid the woman moments after she left the agent’s shop. Police said.
According to the police, the suspects caught up with her as she neared a dark stretch. Her attempts to escape bore no fruit as the men got hold of her before dragging her into a mabati house.
One man allegedly left the complainant in the hands of the accused, who pushed her onto the bed and raped her repeatedly for two hours.
The complainant managed to escape after the suspect left the room briefly. She met her husband who was searching for her. Her husband took her to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital for treatment before reporting the matter to the police.
Koli denied the rape charges in court. He was released on a surety bond of Sh200, 000.
